Task lighting may or may not be something your familiar with. It comes in all shapes in sizes, from nautical swingarm sconces all the way to modern floor lamps. You may even have your own outlook on these lights – essentially they may be any style of light fixture that provides illumination for achieving an objection. This could be a porcelain pendant light over your kitchen island or a gooseneck angle shade over a your restaurant’s logo. No matter how you spin it, the definition of task lighting can vary from person to person.
Our favorite place for a unique table light is next to the bed. With chilly weather just around the corner, it will be extremely nice to curl up in bed with a good book or magazine. Take a cue from this bedroom: modern furniture paired with a unique color palette can easily create a visually pleasing room. The metallic industrial style light on the table (top left) has a joint where the neck connects to the base. This allows for the light to be adjusted and pulled closer to the bed, or even rotated the opposite direction towards the nail head chair off to the side. Now the next photo (top right) utilizes a floor lamp in between their sofa and sitting room. Floor task lamps are practical for gathering rooms, as tables are functional, prime real estate for setting drinks and plates on. Featuring a similar design as the above table lamp, our Cooper Dome Swing Arm Floor Lamp might work well if you have a similar layout. Each floor lamp has a built in high/low switch to easily dim the lighting. While the featured light appears to resemble an old bronze finish, we love the look of a classic satin brass paired with floral and chintz patterns.
